AGGREGATE SALES
SMT Bulk Transload and Martin Marietta receives, store and load out various sizes of aggregates. The SMT team receives blocks of railcars daily from the MM Rock Query located just outside of Macon Georgia. These trains are delivered by the Norfolk Southern Railroad which has direct access to our Blomingdale GA aggregate yard. The aggregates are received in bottom dump railcars and discharged through SMT receiving facility.
This system utilizes a single pocket rail dump, rail-car shaker, and mobile stacking conveyor. The mobile stacking conveyor system allows SMT to handle multiple grades of aggregates and to sort them into specific piles for distribution. The primary sizes handled are #89, #57, #4, #7, #67, GABC, and Type 3 Rip-Rap.
